Kevin Wixted’s paintings and drawings have appeared nationally and internationally in over twenty solo exhibitions. His shows have been written about in Artforum, Art in America, ArtNews, The New York Times, Boston Globe, New York Observer, and theHudson Review, among others. His work is represented in public collections including the State Museum of Pennsylvania, Mississippi Museum of Art, Chase Manhattan Bank, General Electric, Hewlett Packard, Nomura Securities, Societe Generale, and Time Warner. Wixted has been awarded a Pollock-KrasnerGrant, New York Foundation for the Arts Grant, an International Fellowship Faculty Grant, and the Excellence in Teaching award from Alfred University, and residencies at the Cite Internationaledes Arts/ Paris, Josef and Anni Albers Foundation, MacDowell Colony, and the Patrick Allen Frazier of Hospitalfield Foundation/Scotland. He is Professor Emeritus of Painting in the School of Art and Design at Alfred University and co-founder of the Alfred/Düsseldorf MFA in Painting Program. He is the Director of Umbria Contemporary Arts.
