Call for Entries 2023 North of the 45th Upper Midwest Juried Exhibition

Eligibility: This annual juried exhibition is open to MI, MN, and WI residents who are 18+ and live north of the 45th parallel (or within one degree). The exhibition represents artists residing in the Upper Midwest region. Work in all media made in the last three (3) years is welcome. Work previously exhibited at the museum is not eligible.

Submissions: Submit entries by creating an account at devos.slideroom.com.

Fee: There is a $20 fee to submit 1-5 images; the juror will select specific artworks for the exhibition based on submissions.

Awards:                                                                                                                        Jurors’ Choice award, with a prize of $500; Audience Choice – Based on votes by visitors to the exhibition; Permanent Collection Acquisition Award (Dependent on the acquisition committee approval).

Timeline (all dates are 2023): The submission deadline is March 22, 11:59 PM EST; Notification about acceptance is April 25; Artwork is due at the museum by 5 pm June 10; June 23 – July 28: exhibition dates; Reception to be announced. Artists sending work must schedule it to arrive before 5 pm on June 20. The museum will cover return shipping for artists accepted into the exhibition.

Juror: Michael Andrews is the juror for the 2023 North of the 45th exhibition. Curiosity drives Andrews’ expansive and multi-specialized practice in the arts. An artist and educator, Andrews’s experience stems from working in college art schools, artist residencies, nonprofits, small business incubators, and design-focused retail. Andrews earned a BFA from the School of the Art Institute in Chicago and an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art.
